Past Events.

This is just past events.

On Sunday, July 6th, we went to a daughter of a lady from my dad's work's wedding reception.

On Tuesday, July 8th,I had Art Class. It was the hardest class. I had to draw a picture of me holding a bottle opener thing.

On Saturday, July 12th, I had a Birthday party for one of my friends from church. That was a lot of fun! Then, we all sent to the Youth Group Meeting. We played capture the flag outside. It was sort of hard because it was a little dark. One of my friends was going for our flag and I was guarding it. She dived in to get the flag but I was in the way so we bopped knee to knee. So, I could not swim breaststroke or butterfly for the few days after that.

On Wednesday, July 16th, Chris and I went to the dentist early in the morning to have our teeth cleaned. Then, later on in the day, we took Taylor and dropped Melina off at her dental appointment (different place). While we were waiting for her to be done, Maider, Mom, Taylor and I went to the Mannassas Mall.I bought a couple of things and then we picked up Melina. Later on in the day, I went to Megan and Sarah's birthday party and played a lot of games. It was a lot of fun!

On Tuesday, July 22nd, I went to Art class at 7:oo pm. We had to draw a very pretty flower. It was a lot of fun. We stayed up late to pack for our big trip to California.

Fourth of July.
Sorry it is sooooo late!
1st, we went to the parade in D.C.
Then, we went to see the Washington Monument. Well, we just went close to it and did not go in, but hope to go in while our exchange students are here. Then, we watched a little more of the parade. There were some really cool things there.
This is the Fourth of July Parade.
It is a man driving a unicycle and doing a whole bunch of cool tricks.

Then, after watching all those cool things in the parade go by...
We decided to go to the White House and visit the President.
...And here we are!

Then, we went to the Lincoln Memorial. Maider really wanted to go there.

Then, from there, we walked to the Arlington Cemetery.

If you look closely, you will see a robin on a gravestone. While we were there, we visited...

Then, we went to The Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers where we learned that there is always a guard walking back and forth even when it is closed (yes, i mean 24/7).

This is when we were at the Iwo Gema (I think that is how you spell it.), looking at the nice fireworks.

Chris and Simon played soccer for a little bit.

Sorry, it is sort of blurry, but it's hard to get a picture of these fireworks.

Then, we slept.

Swimming

Today is Monday, June 30th.

When I came back from swimming, Maider and I played this game called Etc. It is a fun word game that we like to play together. Then, we drew a whole bunch of droodles (random stuff). And then, we practiced our tongue twisters...lots and lots of fun! Try saying this (fast):

Chipp couldn't chop chocolate chips 'cause Chip chipped his chocolate chip chopper. Then, we played the hardest game on Earth. http://www.jocjuegos.com/el-juego-mas-dificil-del-mundo.html It gets harder! Good luck. Try to get the least amount of deaths as possible. Use the arrows. Then, we had dinner. Chris drove to my Monday Night B Swim Meet. I got 2nd place in breaststroke and 3rd in freestyle. But, then, later on in the meet, there was thunder so the meet was cancelled.

Well, sorry this is so late and short. I'm trying to remember it!

Picnic and Go España!

Today is Sunday, June 29th.

First, we went to church.

Then, we came home and packed our lunch for the annual picnic with the youth group. And then, we were off to the picnic. Chris organized this picnic and it was lots of fun. We played volleyball and my Dad and brother played Ultimate Frisbee. Maider, my friend, and I went on a walk around the park. It was nice temperature... in the shade. But, it wasn't majorly hot in the sun.

Then, when we came home, Chris had to pick up his stuff to go to work. Dad took him to work and picked up a mattress at a friends house for our exchange student, Simon, that will be coming on July 1st.

While that was happening, we watched the Euro Cup Final (Spain v. Germany). Spain won! ¡Arriva España! (Go Spain!) Maider was very happy. Spain last won the Euro, fifty years ago. So it was very exciting.

After that, we had dinner. It was delicious!

Then, we finished the Indiana Jones movie...while Chris watched the Euro Cup (since we watched it while he wasn't here.) We had to keep silent onto who had won and who scored and who fouled out or whatever.

Daddy Arrival June 28th.

Today is Sat.urday, June 28th.

I woke up nice and early and headed off to the pool. Every swim meet at our Home, we dress up as something to show our "spirit" for the team. So, today was Super Heroe day. You could be a made-up heroes or Batman or something like that...
Swim meet. Maider and Chris did not come because they were too tired...(well, I mean...asleep!)
I swam breaststroke and freestyle. In breaststroke I beat my record by three seconds( if I keep on subtracting three seconds each meet, then I'll be really good by the end of the summer).

After we arrived at home, Maider and I went on a little walk around the block. I showed her some things around the neighborhood. Then, we bought some lemonade :).

After that, we went to the pool ( just for fun.) My mom had to go get my dad at the airport right after she dropped Maider and I off at the pool. New Experience to go without my parents. We had lots of fun! Then, my dad showed up... I was sourt of surprised to see him standing right in front of me once I came out of the pool. So, we swam just a little bit more and then left.

We had pork an potatoe salad for dinner. :)

Then, we watched part of the movie, Indiana Jones until someone started snoozing (not naming names... but Who Could Fall Asleep While Watching Indiana Jones?)

Chris went to a Birthday Party for a friend of his.

Maider's arrival.

Today is Friday, the 27th.

Earlier, Taylor came over because Melina and Eric had to go and get furniture. Maider, our Spanish exchange student arrived today. We went to the airport to pick her up at around five. We held up this sign that said "Maider Garcia". So, we were expecting her to come out of customs. But, then, she just popped up behind us. We went home. Then, we went to a Popsicle Pep Rally for our swim team. But, when we got there, people started rushing to the front desk because it started to pour. And then, there was one little thunder...so you weren't allowed in.

But, then it stopped raining and we went to the picnic place. I ate pizza and had fun. Then, my mom had to go drop off Chris at his book club at the church. So, I stayed at the pool while my mom and Maider and Taylor dropped off Chris. Then, I went to the Merryman's (friends from church that introduced me to the swim team) for like ten minutes. Then, when we came home, I got all my stuff ready for tomorrow and went to bed.
Goodnight.

Busy, busy, busy!

Today is June 26th (well, actually yesterday but I forgot to write so I am writing like it was late last night...so just pretend that it is June 26th).

Earlier, before swimming we dropped Chris off at his friend's house. He went to Kings Dominion with some friends from our church. So, then my mom took me to swimming. After a hard work of swimming practice, we went to the church ground. During the summer, some of the people from our co-op, come to the church to play soccer and football and basketball (or just to catch up with friends) or whatever. So, we went there for an hour from there, we went to Subway with my friend, Kate (my friend... Pastor Mark Mullery's daughter). My Mom had to drop off an engraving plate to the jewelery shop next door to Subway. We were just about to leave the shop when Kate saw a cute little puppy sitting down by the display window. She must have been trained to just sit there all day. She was wearing a collar with diamonds on it. I guess it was the owner's dog. But, it could only go behind counters, so we couldn't pet her. So then, we went to Kate's house to pick up her bathing suit to go to the Hinder's pool, near the church. We swam for a little while. My Mom and I left the pool, we came home and did some chores, ate dinner and went to Sweet Life Cafe. Since my brother and Dad aren't home, we had a little outing. We picked some decilious ice cream. I ordered cookies and cream single cone and Mom swirled caramel. We took our ice cream and drove to the Fairfax City Hall. The City puts out concerts on Thursday evenings. This time the Fairfax City Band was playing. It was amazing!

Anyway, that was an exciting day!

Typical Day

Today is June 25, Wednesday.

Earlier today, at around 9, I went to swimming. At swimming, we did a lot of kicking stuff. So my legs are sort of tired. It was pretty hard.

After that, when we came home, we cleaned out the garage... A big chore!

Then, some of Chris's friends, Joel Shirey, Mark Peiffer, Danny Sawyer, and Clark Dean came over to our house to practice band.

This summer, we are hosting two foreign exchange students. A girl from Spain... Her name is Maider (pronounced Mieder) and she is 16 years old. She will be staying with us for a month to see the culture and learn more of the language. So, it will be a new experience. The other student is Simon from France. He is 17 and will also be staying with us for a month. Maider is coming on Friday and Simon is coming on July 1st. I am very excited.

Art Day!

Today is the 24th of June.

My Dad has been gone to Hamburgh, Germany since Sunday. I have not heard from him, though. He is supposed to come back on Saturday.

I've been busy swimming...swimming...and swimming. This is my first year on a swim team. It has been pretty hard, but also fun. I go everyday except for Sundays. This last Saturday was my first Swim Meet. Our team won! Yay! Go Flippers (the name of our team)! But, the other team was pretty even with us...until it got to the relays! I swam backstroke and breaststroke. I got fourth place in both of them. In backstroke, I beat my record by 11 seconds...which is to me, a BIG improvement. In breaststroke, I beat my records by 4 or 5 seconds. I've been improving a lot in the past couple weeks. I have gotten to know a few people on the team. Last night, Monday, at around 6, we went to Centerville for my 1st Monday Night Meet. This meet is where we play people that our not in our division, and is mainly for records...so it is not as consiquensial. But, unfortunately, we heard thunder so it was delayed to 45 minutes later...but then, we were on our way in...when we heard more thunder, so therefore it was delayed another 45 minutes. Then, it started to sprinkle, so the other team's coach decided to prospone it to today, Tuesday. So, we went to Mannassas to visit Melina and Eric (originally planned), since we were already almost there. It Was SUNNY over there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, if we waited like fifteen more minutes at the pool, the storm would already had passed...but it was too late, now. We saw a beautiful rainbow...it was all the way around and you could see the colors so perfectly. Are not God's Creations so beautiful? And, it's pretty sad because I can't go to the prosponed one that is today, because I have an Art Class.

My Art Class is twice a month. It is taught by the same teacher who taught Chris drawing. It is almost the same thing that Chris did over the year, but this class is during the summer. 7 other people are taking the class, too. I am the youngest in the class, though. This is my second class.

So, that is soon and I have to get ready. So, I must go.
Thanks for visiting my blog. Feel free to leave any comments or questions.
I will try to write daily.
